How much is the Love Island prize money and is it shared out?

As Love Island 2022 draws to an end, there are only four couples in the running to be crowned winners - and one half of the victorious pair will have to make a tough decision when it comes to the prize money. The dating show has been running for eight weeks and has seen a total of 36 contestants enter the villa.

Now the four remaining couples - Davide Sanclimenti and Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu, Andrew Le Page and Tasha Ghouri, Dami Hope and Indiyah Polack, and Luca Bish and Gemma Owen who you can read more about here - are waiting to see if they will take the Love Island 2022 title.

A prize pot of £50,000 is up for grabs for the winning couple. The love birds will be asked to pick one of two envelopes - inside one is a note saying £50,000, inside the other it says zero.

Whoever opens the envelope worth £50,000 will have to choose whether to split the money with their partner, so they both get £25,000 each, or to keep the £50,000 for him or herself. In Love Island history no-one has chosen to keep the money from their other half and with every couple in the 2022 final looking pretty strong it seems unlikely that a steal will happen.

The Love Island 2022 winners will be decided by the viewers and the general public, you can read how to vote for the Love Island final here. Heartfelt and emotional speeches are expected to air as the Islanders profess their love to each other and take part in the Love Island 2022 Summer Ball. Viewers will be able to watch the live final on ITV2 or on ITV Hub, with the final airing on Monday, August 1 at 9pm on ITV2.

Welsh paramedic Paige Thorne narrowly missed out on making it to the final after she and her partner, Adam Collard, were voted out by the public and voted as least compatible by some Islanders.
