Shane Lowry is chasing a monster €1.16m payday at the HSBC Abu Dhabi Championship on Sunday.
The Offaly man, looking to win the event for the second time, is just one stroke behind leader Scott Jamieson ahead of the final round.
After a five-under-par 67 Lowry is tied for second at ten-under-par with his playing partner Thomas Pieters, who also shot a 67.
A win would be Lowry's sixth on the DP World Tour and first since his famous victory in the 2019 Open Championship at Royal Portrush.
Making the turn in a two-under-par 34, Lowry's round came to life with a superb long iron shot to set up a birdie on 15.
In windy conditions, Lowry's full shotmaking skills were on show and he utilised the slope to side of the 16th green to set up another birdie.
The Clara man then got into some trouble on the closing par-five 18th, with his second shot into some long grass close to the water.
But Lowry took his medicine and played a shot into the middle of the green to close with a par and sign for a 67.
"I'm happy with the way I've played overall," Lowry told Sky Sports after his round.
"I'm really happy with the way the week is going. And I'm looking forward to tomorrow."
"It was just a pleasant day out there. It's a nice golf course. It's tricky, a bit of wind blowing. I quite like it. I like the way it fits my eyes. I'm looking forward to tomorrow.
"There's one thing on my mind and that's hopefully to be standing here tomorrow with that trophy again.
"It's great for the first tournament of the year to be in contention. There's been plenty of times for my first tournament of the year when I've missed cuts and stuff like that. It's nice to be where I am and I'm really looking forward to tomorrow."
Elsewhere, Padraig Harrington shot a four-under-par 68 to move just outside the top 10, while Rory McIlroy shot a 67, including an eagle on the 7th hole, to be two-under-par heading into the final round.
