How many years is the Platinum Jubilee?

The Platinum Jubilee is a celebration of the Queen's 70th anniversary on the throne.

On February 6 this year Her Majesty became the first British Monarch to celebrate a Platinum Jubilee, marking 70 years of service to the people of the United Kingdom, the Realms and the Commonwealth.

To celebrate the anniversary, events and initiatives will take place throughout the year, culminating in a four day UK bank holiday weekend from Thursday June 2 to Sunday June 5.

  • 75 years - Diamond (not to be confused with a diamond anniversary for a 60th anniversary)
  • 80 years - Oak
  • 90 years - Granite
