Boris Johnson's Government was hit with a double resignation as Rishi Sunak and Sajid Javid quit their ministerial roles. But they’re not the only ones to have jumped ship this year, with nine ministers having handed in their notice in 2022 alone.
Sunak announced his departure from his role as Chancellor of the Exchequer by sharing his letter of resignation to the Prime Minister on Twitter. He wrote: “The public rightly expect government to be conducted properly, competently and seriously.
"I recognise this may be my last ministerial job, but I believe these standards are worth fighting for and that is why I am resigning."
