How many selections will the Indianapolis Colts have in the 2025 NFL draft?
In the first round, we know at this time that the Colts will hold the 14th overall pick.
In total, however, they have seven selections in this year’s draft, which includes one in each of the seven rounds.
Until we see how the playoffs shake out and what the final 1-32 draft order will be, we don’t at this time know for sure where Indianapolis will be selecting in Rounds 2-7.
General manager Chris Ballard said on Friday that not adding more competition to the Colts’ 2024 roster was a “mistake,” and added that they will have to “be better” when it comes to free agency.
Ultimately, only time will tell if that comes to fruition.
But regardless of the free agency approach in 2025, the draft is likely going to continue to be the Colts’ primary avenue to bringing in premium talent.
The 2024 draft class came with a lot of promise with the play of Laiatu Latu, Matt Goncalves, Jaylon Carlies, and Tanor Bortolini. The team also remains quite bullish on AD Mitchell, who as Ballard said, has to be more consistent.
While you can pick just about any position group for the Colts and say more competition is needed, some of the bigger positions of need entering the offseason include cornerback, safety, tight end, and linebacker.
Ballard also mentioned adding competition at quarterback and bolstering the offensive line depth. I also believe that adding to the running back and interior defensive line rooms should happen in some capacity as well.
