How many episodes of The Capture are there on BBC? Series 2 of thriller has viewers gripped

Millions of viewers have become hooked on The Capture once again, with the thrilling drama making its return to BBC One, after its first series proved to be compelling viewing. And, while programming has been significantly disrupted after The Queen's death, the drama is expected to air on Sunday night.

Holiday Grainger led the cast for the first run of the show three years ago and she's back for more, alongside the likes of Ron Pearlman, Ben Miles, Ginny Holder and Nigel Lindsay all reprising their roles from last time round.

Series two of The Capture once again questions if we can really believe what we see. Entrenched in the UK’s own ‘Correction’ unit, DCI Rachel Carey (Grainger) finds herself in the middle of a new conspiracy - with a new target. But how can she solve this case when she can’t even trust her closest colleagues?

Escalating from the CCTV thriller of series one, the six-part run features 'invisible' assassins, the terrifying rise of deepfake technology, the ever-growing tension between government and Big Tech, and corruption at the heart of the British media.

Joining lead actress Holiday and her co-stars for The Capture's second series are the likes of Paapa Essiedu, well known for roles in Gangs of London and I May Destroy You, ambitious young MP Isacc Turner and Indira Varma (This Way Up, Game Of Thrones) and Andy Nyman, a well known face for viewers of Hanna and Unforgettable.

How many episodes of The Capture are there on BBC?

There are SIX episodes of The Capture, airing over consecutive Sundays and Mondays for the next few weeks in the 9pm slot on BBC One.

A synopsis for the fifth part, set to air on Sunday, September 11 reads: "Will Isaac Turner meet his digital doppelgänger? DCI Carey pursues a risky new suspect – will she finally find out who is behind everything?"

And then, moving onto the six and last part on Monday, a preview teases: "The net tightens. After DCI Carey is kidnapped, her instincts are proved right, but she is in more danger than ever before, while Isaac Turner pursues his own agenda."
