The Eurovision Song Contest will come to an end in Liverpool on Saturday night, with fans beside themselves with excitement for the annual event and everything that comes with it.
Eurovision celebrated its 60th anniversary in 2015, meaning iut is now just two years away from its seventh decade and interest in the competition shows absolutely no signs of waning. Last year's title was won by Ukraine, after a landslide victory for Kalush Orchestra in the public vote, after the YUK's Sam Ryder was the clear favourite with the juries.
But, while the Ukraine won on the night in Turin, it was ultimately decided that there weren't in a position to host this year's contest, due to the conflict with Russia over the last year. That meant the honour of staging Eurovision 2023 fell on the shoulders of the UK and the BBC, with Liverpool being selected as host city in the autumn.

Over the last few months Merseyside has been readying itself to put on an epic show for one of the most famous events on the planet and, after the official welcome party on Sunday, May 7, the competitive singing action got going with the first semi final on May 9. That was followed by the second semi on May 11 and then the big one - the Eurovision final on Saturday, May 13.
How many countries are in Eurovision 2023?
At the start of the week there were, 37 countries in contention for Eurovision victory, that has since been whittled down to 26 for the final.
