How Manchester United players reacted to Donny van de Beek's return to training after injury

Donny van de Beek has returned to training at Manchester United after six months out of action due to injury.

The Dutchman has not featured for United since January's 3-0 win over Bournemouth. It ended a frustrating season early for the attacking midfielder who only featured 10 times in Erik ten Hag's first campaign at the club.

Van de Beek underwent surgery on his knee problem and has been continuing his rehabilitation at United's Carrington training ground. In recent months, this has included individual training and drills with the ball during one-to-one sessions.

The United squad has returned to the club's Carrington training base for pre-season ahead of the 2023/24 campaign. The club's first friendly in a busy schedule before the start of the Premier League comes this Wednesday when the Reds take on rivals Leeds.

Van de Beek is part of the group which is back in training for Ten Hag's side. The 26-year-old will be hoping to make more of an impact this campaign and be in his manager's first-team plans on a more regular basis than last season.

The Netherlands international took to Instagram to mark his return to training with his teammates. He posted: "Really happy to train with the team after 6 months!"

And several of Van de Beek's teammates are happy to have him back training with them, with many commenting on the update.

Along with a flexing bicep and flames emojis, Bruno Fernandes wrote: "He's back."

Harry Maguire posted: "Good to see you back mate."

Along with a heart emoji, Lisandro Martinez wrote: "My brother."
