How Manchester City could line-up for crucial Premier League clash against Totteham Hotspur

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola must decide whether to stick with the side that destroyed Sporting Lisbon 5-0 on Tuesday, or freshen up his starting XI when they face Tottenham on Saturday evening.

City will go into the game as heavy favourites, sitting nine points clear at the top of the Premier League. However, Spurs are one of only two sides to beat Guardiola's side in the top flight this season.

Both teams are desperate for the points with City keen to maintain their advantage over second-place Liverpool, whilst Antonio Conte’s side are in the thick of a top four race.

Guardiola started a strong XI against Sporting on Tuesday and it was reflected in the score line, but he must decide whether to ring the changes against a fresh Spurs team.

Ederson will keep his place in goal, whilst Kyle Walker who missed the midweek win over Sporting through suspension should replace John Stones at right-back.

The England defender should reprise his traditional centre-back role alongside Ruben Dias, Joao Cancelo is also likely to start. Oleksandr Zinchenko and Nathan Ake are set to miss out.

Guardiola may opt to stick with the three man midfield that were integral to their swashbuckling win on Tuesday; with Rodri, Bernardo Silva and Kevin De Bruyne all set to keep their places.

Raheem Sterling has been in sensational form of late with four goals in his last two games, including one against Sporting and is almost certain to start on the left of City’s attack.

Foden also found the back of the net on Tuesday, his second in his last two games and should start through the middle.

Mahrez is likely to complete the three man attack, the Algerian winger has four goals in his last four appearances and has cemented himself as City’s best option on the right.

Predicted Manchester City line-up vs Tottenham: Ederson; Walker, Stones, Dias, Cancelo; De Bruyne Rodri, Bernardo; Mahrez, Foden, Sterling.
