How Man United's win over Brighton impacts West Ham, Arsenal and Tottenham in top four race

Manchester United have moved back into fourth spot in the Premier League thanks to a 2-0 win over Brighton on Tuesday evening.

Goals from Cristiano Ronaldo and Bruno Fernandes proved enough to see off the Seagulls, who had Lewis Dunk sent off, and the victory established a two point gap between United and fifth placed West Ham.

The Hammers have 41 points and Ralf Rangnick’s side are now on 43, both sides have played 25 Premier League games.

Arsenal, who currently occupy sixth spot, have 39 points, however the Gunners have three games in hand over both teams.

Tottenham, who are in the worst form of the sides chasing fourth having lost their last three league games, have 36 points, but do have three games in hand over United and West Ham.

The Hammers can claw their way back into the top four with victory against Newcastle at the London Stadium on Saturday.

However, United could reclaim the coveted position if they beat Leeds at Elland Road on Sunday.

Arsenal host Brentford on Saturday, while Spurs have the most difficult fixture of all the Champions League chasing clubs this weekend as Antonio Conte's men travel to Manchester City in the evening kick-off.
