At Liverpool he is perhaps best remembered for a badly taken corner kick.
Iago Aspas' time at Anfield was summed up by the moment he scuffed a set-piece in a high pressure situation as Liverpool chased the game - and the Premier League title - against Chelsea in May 2014.
Only he will know what he was thinking in that moment, but it ensured the Spaniard departed Merseyside as nothing more than a meme to entertain rival supporters for years to come.
He'd looked a shrewd signing when joining the Reds in the summer of 2013, starting pre-season in impressive fashion, but his £7m move from Celta Vigo went badly wrong. Aspas scored just once - against League One Oldham Athletic in the FA Cup.

Aspas is philosophical about his time at Liverpool - and that corner - and even looks back on a difficult year with fondness, telling The Guardian in 2017 that it was a "great season" for the Reds.
He said: "It was a great season for Liverpool – one of their best – although I would have liked to have played a bigger part and that corner is the final memory, so it’s their lasting image of me. But in football you can’t forever live in the past. Things keep moving, every day gives you another chance..”
And Aspas would get another chance - at the place he calls home, no less. But first would come a move to Sevilla, initially on loan but with a permanent deal written into the contract.
Aspas suffered a slight hangover from his time at Anfield, struggling to break into Sevilla's first team after arriving back in Spain. Nevertheless, he still managed to notch 10 goals, seven of which came in the Copa Del Rey.
Sevilla made the move permanent, but they then immediately sold Aspas back to Celta Vigo, eight years ago today.
Aspas was already a hero with the Northern Spanish club, having worked his way through their youth system and scoring 50 goals in his first spell, a rate of one in three. But that was just the start for Aspas, who improved on that rate as he hit the ground running at his boyhood club.
Aspas notched 18 goals in 40 games in his first season back at Celta, the highlight coming as he scored twice in a 4-1 win against Barcelona. Celta finished sixth that season, their highest position in 10 years and Aspas was central to their form.
Finishes of 13th and 12th would follow, but Aspas would continue to improve, scoring 26 goals in 49 appearances in 2016/17 and 23 goals in 29 in 2017-18.
Aspas started the following season well, scoring 10 goals in 17 games before injury struck. Celta's form nosedived, losing 10 times in 12 matches to be dragged into a relegation fight. But then their talisman returned in March to net 10 goals in their final nine fixtures to see Celta to safety in 17th.
Aspas has never stopped scoring since, and after 12 goals in 39 appearances in 2022-23 - a figure that would have been higher had it not been for a late-season dry spell, his total tally for Celta stands at 196 in 457 games across two spells. He's adored by supporters, with some claiming he's the best they've ever seen at the club.
At Liverpool, he'll be remembered for entirely different reasons, of course, but since leaving Anfield he has shown that the club were right to take a gamble on him.
This is a man with a proven track record in front of goal, and signing him for a fee of £7m reduced the risk for the Reds.
Michael Edwards, Dave Fallows and Barry Hunter were three of Liverpool's infamous 'transfer committee' back in 2014. All but Edwards remain with the club and have transformed their reputations - but Aspas might be proof they were on the right track all along.
He might have taken football's worst ever corner, but in La Liga he'll always be known as a Celta Vigo icon.
