Kim Kardashian has sported a number of different hairstyles over the years, from silky black locks to bubble-gum pink ends and even platinum blonde waves.
The 42-year-old reality star is rarely seen with a hair out of place, leaving fans to wonder what her real hair actually looks like under all of her wigs and extensions.
Right on cue, Kim sent the internet into meltdown earlier this week by revealing her natural locks, with some fans remarking how damaged it looked after years of colour and length transformations.
The mum-of-four was spotted in one of daughter North's TikTok videos, with her hair seemingly wet after a wash.
She had dark-coloured roots and short blonde locks, with her hair looking much thinner than usual.
"Kimberly's hair must be tired because of the bleaching," said one follower.
Kim has dyed her hair most colours under the sun, including green and red, but in may last year went platinum blonde to replicate Marilyn Monroe while she wore one of her iconic dresses to the Met Gala.
Speaking of the transformation last year, she told Vogue: "I did want a physical change, too, so I thought I would wait and do it for this.
"So I'm spending a day straight dyeing my hair — 14 hours straight! — to get it done."
While in sister Kylie Jenner's YouTube vlog, Kim expressed her concern over losing her hair because of how long it was bleached for.
Kylie told Kim how "bold" she was for dying her hair platinum blonde, while Kim nervously replied: "I'll risk getting my hair to fall out."
Bleaching hair can cause irreversible damage to the bonds inside the hair, causing them to weaken and break.
When the internal structure of the hair is compromised, strands are more likely to split and snap.
Extensions can also cause damage to hair as they require people to wear their natural hair tightly pulled, which can be tough on their locks.
The constant pulling can cause strands of hair to break or fall out and it can even damage hair follicles.
This could explain why Kim's natural hair looks more shorter and thinner than her glamorous looks.
The Met Gala wasn't the first time Kim has experimented with colours, having stepped out with neon green hair back in 2018.
The Kardashians star was quick to reassure fans that it wasn't a real dye job, writing on Instagram: "The neon wig last night made me realize I really love my dark hair."
Kim also had a bob in 20818, but in an Instagram vid confessed: "I'm so annoyed that I cut it. I feel cutesy … not sexy. No, I don't feel sexy in short hair. I feel sexy with long hair."
