How Jurgen Klopp reacted to room full of Liverpool supporters singing his chant

Jurgen Klopp was all smiles on Saturday evening after being serenaded by a room full of Liverpool fans.

The Reds' boss was at The Shankly Hotel on Victoria Street at the weekend for 'An Audience with Jurgen Klopp', providing supporters the chance to hear the German talk all things Liverpool.

Footage from this sell-out event has since surfaced on social media and shows Klopp sat on stage as those in attendance decided to start signing his popular chant.

'I'm so Glad (That Jurgen is a Red),’ sung to the tune of The Beatles’ ‘I Feel Fine’, was first heard on the terraces during the 2021/22 season and has since remained a popular chant for those attending matches.

As shown in the video below, Klopp appeared slightly taken aback after hearing his name being chanted and applauded those responsible after completing their rendition of the song. While the Liverpool boss seemed to enjoy this performance, the 56-year-old pleaded with the Anfield faithful to stop singing 'I'm so Glad' during matches after watching his side come close to throwing away three points against Tottenham Hotspur at the end of April.

"I have to say now, I love all of them but my song, don’t sing it! If you want to sing it, sing it after the game in the bars, wherever," he said. "Because it is always like it is closing the game. We are 3-0 up and I hear 'I'm so glad that Jurgen is a Red'. It is not over!

“It would be really nice if you could leave it for later and now it's like 4-3, everyone is happy and we had in the final part of the game, the atmosphere was like an explosion that no one will forget that game ever. Let's keep going.”
