Jessie Buckley is celebrating her first Oscar nomination this week, having come a long way in her career since she rose to fame on a TV talent show fourteen years ago.
The Irish actor, 32, is an Academy Award nominee in the Best Supporting Actress category for her performance in the Netflix psychological drama the Lost Daughter (2021).
She portrayed the younger version of Olivia Colman 's character in the film, with Colman, 48, herself nominated in the Best Actress category at this year's ceremony.
The awards ceremony will be held next month, with the achievement of even being nominated a major step in the career of Buckley - who started out in musical theatre.
She first came to prominence on I'd Do Anything in 2008, which saw performers compete for the opportunity to play Nancy in the West End revival of the musical Oliver!
The show, overseen by Andrew Lloyd Webber, now 73, was won by Jodie Prenger, now 42. Buckley was runner-up, with Samantha Barks, now 31, also a finalist.
After the competition, Buckley made her West End debut in the A Little Night Music, though she's more recently received acclaim for projects away from the stage.

And she has recently returned to the West End in Cabaret alongside Eddie Redmayne, 40. She plays the lead role on Sally Bowles in the musical at the Playhouse Theatre.
