The health of Silvia Pinal, the legendary 94-year-old star of Mexico's Golden Age of Cinema, has become a topic of deep concern in Mexico and among Spanish-speaking fans in the U.S. and Latin America.
Renowned Mexican journalist Joaquín López Dóriga and Luis Enrique Guzmán, Pinal's youngest son, have both suggested that the iconic actress is in her final moments.
Luis Enrique was the first to speak publicly about her condition, telling Mexican media that his mother "is in the process of passing." While he did not provide further details, his statement made it clear that Pinal's health has entered a critical stage.
Reports later confirmed that her family had gathered at Médica Sur hospital in Mexico City, including her children, her great-granddaughter Michelle Salas, and her ex-husband Enrique Guzmán, father of Luis Enrique and Alejandra Guzmán. Additionally, a priest administered the Last Rites, the Catholic Church's sacrament for those nearing the end of life.
One of the most striking statements came from López Dóriga, one of Mexico's most respected journalists, who wrote on X (formerly Twitter): "I've been informed of the irreversible, critical condition of the great Silvia Pinal. She remains in intensive care, surrounded by her family."

What Happened to Silvia Pinal?
According to her family, including her daughters Alejandra and Sylvia Pasquel, Pinal was hospitalized due to a urinary tract infection, arrhythmia, and low blood pressure. After three days in intensive care, she was moved to an intermediate care room, with plans to be discharged on Wednesday, November 27. However, her health took a sharp turn for the worse on that very day, deteriorating rapidly.
Unlike previous health crises, the Pinal family has remained tight-lipped about her condition, fueling public concern. The statements from Luis Enrique and López Dóriga now suggest she is in her final stages of life.
This is a developing story.
