How impactful was Seahawks trade of Russell Wilson to Broncos?

The Seattle Seahawks were part of one of the biggest trades over the offseason, sending starting quarterback Russell Wilson to the Denver Broncos for some serious draft compensation and a handful of players.

So how does this move stack up across the league this year? Well, NFL.com columnist Jeffri Chadiha only ranked it as the second-most impactful trade of the offseason.

“The only real question here is how Wilson, who turns 34 in November, will play as he gets older,” Chadiha writes. “He’s always been most dangerous as a creative scrambler who can frustrate defenders with his legs, vision and downfield accuracy. But as long as he’s anything close to what we’ve seen over the past decade, Denver should make a run in the stacked AFC West.”

So which deal did Chadiha give top nods to? None other than the Deshaun Watson trade to the Browns.

“This deal tops the list for one simple reason: It’s practically impossible to acquire an elite quarterback who’s just entering his prime,” Chadiha explains.

And he’s spot on.
