As far as results elsewhere go, Leeds United couldn't have really hoped for a better night. That could all be undone if they lose against West Ham United on Wednesday, but for now it's a welcome boost heading into their vital clash at Elland Road.
Leicester City continued their dismal spell of form since the Premier League return with a third defeat in a row. Aleksandar Mitrovic's 17th minute strike proved decisive as Fulham climbed into seventh with a 1-0 win. The Foxes, hold a slender one-point advantage in 13th place over Leeds, who boast two games in hand over them.
AFC Bournemouth, who are directly below Leeds in 15th due to their inferior goal difference, passed up the chance to move above them after they were comfortably beaten 3-0 by Manchester United at Old Trafford.

But perhaps the standout result of the night was Everton's humiliating 4-1 thumping at the hands of Brighton & Hove Albion at Goodison Park. Leeds have also played two games fewer than Everton and Bournemouth, and sit above both of them in the table.
Everton failed to build on their 1-1 draw against Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium, and sit just one-point above the relegation zone, with all four teams directly below them set to play on Wednesday.
