How Everton can secure Premier League safety next weekend as relegation permutations become clear

Liverpool's win over Leicester City at the King Power Stadium means Everton can secure their Premier League status as early as next weekend.

Jurgen Klopp's side were comfortable 3-0 victors at the Foxes, with goals from Curtis Jones (2) and Trent Alexander-Arnold leaving Dean Smith's team down in 19th place in the table.

For the Blues, it means a victory in their next match and defeats for Leeds and Leicester in their respective fixtures would give them an unassailable advantage in terms of the relegation battle.

However, anything other than a win for Everton at Wolves would mean the fight to stay afloat in the top flight would go down to the final day, along with the potential of relegation being out of their hands if Leeds or Leicester were to win their fixtures.

The Blues were beaten 3-0 by Manchester City at Goodison Park on Sunday in the Premier League, although draws for Leeds at home to Newcastle and Nottingham Forest at Chelsea meant they remained out of the relegation zone.

Next up for Sean Dyche's side is a trip to Wolverhampton Wanderers, who have secured their Premier League status for next season already.

The Saturday 3 p.m. kick off time means the Toffees can apply some pressure to their relegation rivals. Forest face Arsenal on the same day in the evening game, before Leeds travel to West Ham and Leicester visit Newcastle on Sunday and Monday respectively.
