Bianca Censori and Kanye West made headlines without even staying for the full award show at the Grammys, due to a highly controversial outfit.
The rapper appeared on the red carpet dressed in a simple all-black look, while his wife matched the look in a large fur coat.
However, when prompted by West, she shrugged it off to reveal a near-nude look that left very little to the imagination.
The outfit sparked controversy, with people criticising both the scandalous nature of the outfit and also expressing concern for Censori herself.
This is the latest in a long line of controversial outfits from Censori, whose style is reportedly chosen for her by her husband.
Celebrities react to Bianca Censori’s outfit
Being a star-studded event, some celebrities haven’t hesitated to weigh in on the controversy.
Political commentator Meghan McCain took to X in a now-deleted social media post where she called West a “repugnant, vile piece of garbage”.
She went on to express concern for Censori, writing that “she looks like a victim and a hostage”. This echoes worries circulating on social media, with people raising the fact that Censori didn’t look willing to remove the coat at first, before seemingly being encouraged by a nod from West.
Alyssa Farah Griffin, co-host of The View, also shared her opinions while on the show, raising concerns about not just this outfit but Censori’s style over the last few months.
“I hope that his partner is OK,” Griffin said. “That whole thing was very uncomfortable for most women and I don’t want to see it or hear from it any further.”
Griffin followed this up with a post on social media that read: “In this house, we ignore Kanye.”
How did Kanye West react?
West himself defended Bianca’s Grammys look while speaking to the press on the red carpet. He maintained that her outfit choice was a form of "art".
He also went on to criticise the award show as a whole, calling it “boring”. A source close to West told media that the couple never intended to stay for the entire award ceremony.
