How cold the Met Office say it is going to get where you are in Wales as temperatures plummet below freezing

Temperatures are about to fall by as much as 14 degrees in Wales, and with cold Artic winds meaning some areas will struggle to get above freezing. Porthmadog was the warmest place in the UK on Tuesday with highs of 19°C, but today those temperatures will fall to 5°C.

"Most of you will only see a few flakes in the wind and for the vast majority, there will be nothing at all, but there will be some sleet and snow overnight in southern areas. The biggest issue on Thursday morning is the risk of frost and ice."

The Met Office's outlook for Wales on Friday and the weekend says: "Cold on Friday with sunny spells and isolated showers of rain, sleet and hill snow. Further showers of rain and hill snow on Saturday. Dry and bright on Sunday."

The Met Office long range outlook for the UK next week says that it "will gradually become more changeable and less cold than the current week".
