How Camilla will ensure the coronation goes her way with hands-on planning approach

Camilla is heavily involved in planning the coronation and is making sure her demands are met, a close pal of hers has said.

Just weeks away, and both Camilla and King Charles III are making plans with who will play what role and who will be in the background.

Plans reveal the Crown Jewels will play a starring role during the religious service at Westminster Abbey on May 6.

And the Coronation Procession will feature hundreds of members of the Armed Forces from the UK, Commonwealth and British Overseas Territories, as well as the Sovereign’s Bodyguard and Royal Watermen.

But His Majesty will also bring the ceremony, which begins at 11am, firmly into the present with a Twitter emoji to be used via a set of hashtags across the bank holiday weekend.

It comes after the palace revealed for the first time in the official invitation to King's coronation that she will be known as Queen.

One of the "Queen's companions, which replaces the ladies-in-waiting, had told the Sunday Times that Camilla is making sure her voice is being heard when wanting to tweak plans for the big day.

Fiona Shelburne, the Marchioness of Lansdowne, told the paper: "You can see it with the rehearsals for the coronation — getting her voice heard has sometimes been challenging. But she is making sure her voice is heard by going, ‘This is what I think about it,’ and by talking to the King.

He wants to make his wife happy, she has earned that right. She is anxious it should go well and has instincts about ways it might be better tweaked.”

Fiona Shelburne, the Marchioness of Lansdowne, told the paper: "It was a big decision, but it’s so much more fun to have them there by her side."

The 68-year-old also said Camilla "won't be pushed about".

She added: "She’s not going to be pushed about. She won’t have a hissy fit, but she’ll say, ‘No, I want it done this way.’ It’s an incredibly important date for both of them, she needs to know her part.”

It comes as the King's Coronation has been plunged into chaos after rehearsals overran significantly, prompting fears the nation will switch off and heap more pressure on the stuttering start to the monarch's reign.

A source said royal aides are working around the clock in their determination to ensure everything is perfect for the big day.

However, royal sources have attempted to dampen the anxiety, saying: "It's fair to say it will go down to the wire, but there is huge confidence everything will go to plan on the day.

"This is naturally a huge event and the important point is everyone is pulling in the right direction.

"The King and Queen Consort want it to be perfect as does everyone involved which is why everything is being done to make it so."
