Fans have been gushing over Serena Gomez’s engagement to Benny Blanco since the couple announced their plans for marriage in December. The couple began dating in 2023, after they began collaborating on an album together.
“Forever begins now,” Gomez wrote on an Instagram post, featuring a photo of the giant marquise-shaped diamond ring.
Since their engagement, they have endured a strong start to 2025.
The pair, who are quickly becoming one of Hollywood’s favourite couples, dazzled together at the Golden Globes in January, and in March, they set hearts racing again as they were seen together at the Oscars - with Gomez stealing the show with her bejewelled golden dress.

Things remained friendly until 2023, when Gomez confirmed that the two were dating. "He is my absolute everything in my heart," she commented on a photo of the couple shared by a fan account on Instagram.

In September 2014, they got back together, but were believed to have broken up again the following month. The reason for the split is not known, however speculation arose around infidelity on the Baby hitmaker’s part after photos emerged of Bieber and Kendall Jenner in Paris.

On April 2, Bieber shared a meme on his Instagram story featuring a scene from The Lord of the Rings in which Gollum holds up a ring close to his face. The text reads: “Girls on social media when they get engaged.”
Social media sleuths quickly began pondering whether the post was indirectly addressing Gomez’s engagement.

A month later, Zedd posted a picture of Gomez in bed. He explained on Los Angeles 97.1 AMP Radio interview that he’d met Gomez on a bathroom break at his label’s studio. "A week later, we start working on a song,” he explained. “All because I had to pee."
However, Zedd later confessed that he had “no idea” how much dating Gomez would change his life. “Reporters were calling my parents. People were hacking my friends’ phones. I was pissed,” he told Billboard.
Niall Horan
Fan theories about Gomez’s alleged relationship with One Direction star Niall Horan began in 2015, when the pair were spotted together at Jenna Dewan-Tatum’s 35th birthday party in Los Angeles. The pair were observed together on a number of occasions, even posting about each other on their Instagram stories.

Andrea Lervolino
Gomez was rumoured to be dating the Italian-Canadian film producer and entrepeneur Andrea Lervolino, after meeting him on set of the 2016 film The Dubious Battle.
Lervolino was seen at Gomez’s 27th birthday party. Then, in the summer of 2022, photos circulated of the pair together on a yacht in Italy.
Drew Taggart
Gomez reportedly went on a few dates with the Chainsmokers singer Drew Taggart in 2023. They were spotted in clubs and at a bowling alley.
Zayn Malik
Rumours that Gomez was seeing another one direction star, Zayn Malik, were stirred in March 2023, when a TikToker claimed they’d seen the two kissing in New York City.
