Trump recently formed the Department of Government Efficiency, appointing Vivek Ramaswamy and Elon Musk to lead the advisory panel. Bice stated, 'Like Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy, I'm looking at ways to make the government more efficient and accountable.' The DOGE Act proposes a deconfliction and tracking system for federal grants to reduce waste and enhance transparency in fund distribution.
The legislation not only creates a tracking system but also prohibits issuing multiple federal grants to the same applicant for similar purposes. Additionally, the bill calls for a report on the advantages of utilizing artificial intelligence to identify duplicative grant applications more efficiently.
Rep. Aaron Bean, R-Fla., a co-sponsor of the bill, recently co-founded the DOGE Caucus in the House. This move signals the Republicans' readiness to wield significant power in Washington, D.C., with the GOP set to control the Senate, White House, and House in the upcoming year.
