House Of The Dragon Season 2: Alyn's Impact Revealed

House of the Dragon TV Series

The latest episode of House of the Dragon, titled The Red Sowing, showcased a pivotal moment for Team Black as Queen Rhaenyra successfully recruited new dragon riders. While the process resulted in casualties, three new Dragonseeds emerged with dragons of their own. Notably absent from the dragon-claiming endeavor was Alyn of Hull, who opted to remain focused on his seafaring duties.

Actor Abubakar Salim, who portrays Alyn, discussed the character's evolution from the book to the screen. Alyn's older age in the show has shaped his perspective, leading him to prioritize his family and responsibilities over joining the dragon-riding fray. Salim highlighted the strained relationship between Alyn and his father, Corlys, emphasizing Alyn's reluctance to accept Corlys as his father figure.

As Alyn's brother, Addam, becomes a dragon rider, tensions rise between the siblings. Alyn's primary concern shifts to ensuring Addam's safety amidst the escalating war. Salim hinted at Alyn's deepening involvement in the conflict, driven by his protective instincts towards his brother.

Reflecting on Alyn's non-involvement in dragon riding, Salim expressed a mix of curiosity and contentment with Alyn's path. While the idea of riding a dragon intrigued him, Salim appreciated Alyn's focus on his maritime endeavors. Additionally, Salim shared his enthusiasm for a potential revival of the sci-fi series Raised by Wolves, proposing various mediums such as video games, comics, and anime for its continuation.

Salim's passion for tabletop roleplaying games like Dungeons & Dragons sparked discussions about running a Raised by Wolves TTRPG. He envisioned incorporating mechanics from Blades in the Dark and collaborating with fellow enthusiasts, including the possibility of involving the Critical Role team.

House of the Dragon's season two finale is set to air on HBO and Max, marking the culmination of the current storyline. Fans can anticipate further developments in the ongoing saga of House of the Dragon.
