'House of the Dragon' and 'Shrek' parallels have fans convinced it is a live-action remake of the animated film- WATCH

'House of the Dragon' has been ruling the social media trends since its release in September. Besides the twists and shocking turns in this story, fans have been unable to shake off the spitting similarities between the hit series and the animated comdey 'Shrek'.

Fans on Twitter and TikTok have been having a hearty laugh over how some of the most iconic and shocking scenes in the Game of Thrones prequel, are actully similar to the animated film and its sequels. "Shrek did it first," quipped a fan while posting side-by-side images of the two hits.

Another said, "That's why it's a good series, it was inspired by a modern classic lol," and shared a clip showing the spitting similarities between 'HOTD' and 'Shrek'.

Some of the hilarious scenes refferenced in the viral videos include Rhaenys' epic entry on her dragon, Aemond being presented with a roast pig, the death of King Viserys and even Aegon II's coronation.

After gaining record-breaking viewership and scoring great ratings, 'House of the Dragon' will come to a close with an epic season finale on Monday. Fans will then have a long two-year wait until they are taken back to the halls of the iron throne in 2024.
