Game of Thrones fans have been taking a seat on the imposing new-look 12ft Iron Throne, as it was unveiled on top of Edinburgh 's historic Calton Hill today to celebrate the launch of TV show House of the Dragon.
The Iron Throne is an historic symbol in Westeros, forged from the blades of Aegon Targaryen's defeated foes after he conquered the seven kingdoms. House of the Dragon is the eagerly awaited prequel to the global hit series Game of Thrones, which is available to watch now on Sky and NOW.
As the Throne was unveiled in front of the National Monument of Scotland, a bagpiper was at hand to perform a rendition of the House of the Dragon theme tune. It'll give fans of the fantasy blockbuster the chance to have a once-in-a-lifetime selfie on the seat of power.
But be quick though as it's only in the capital for one more day, so head along to Calton Hill tomorrow Thursday August 25, between 9am and 5pm.
Fans and visitors will also be able to discover more about the new series by scanning a QR code next to the Iron Throne.
Jamie East, co-host of Sky Atlantic's Thronecast and TV special Welcome to Westeros said: "Set 200 years before the events of Game of Thrones, House of the Dragon will transport fans to Westeros at the height of Targaryen rule.
"We’ll discover an Iron Throne of far greater scale and decadence, made from the warped and melted swords of the Targaryen’s defeated enemies, symbolic of the Targaryen’s huge power and influence at this time."
House of the Dragon began airing on Sky Atlantic and streaming service NOW on August 22.
