House of the Dead: Remake is coming to PS4, Xbox One, and PC next week

If cheesy one-liners and bullet showers are your thing, then it’s worth keeping an eye on House of the Dead: Remake once it lands on multiple platforms next week.

On Thursday, Forever Entertainment announced that House of the Dead: Remake is coming to PS4, Xbox One, PC via Steam and GOG, and Google Stadia on April 28, 2022. It’s already out on Nintendo Switch, but it seems that the exclusivity deal is ending barely three weeks later.

Forever Entertainment hasn’t stated if these ports will be any different from the Nintendo Switch version, but House of the Dead: Remake will likely benefit from the extra horsepower. IGN’s review made a note of performance issues that will hopefully be absent on more powerful hardware.

There’s also a tiny bit of new House of the Dead: Remake gameplay footage to accompany the announcement. Blink, and you’ll miss it, though. Forever Entertainment did not specify which version of the game was in the video.

House of the Dead originally came out in arcades back in 1996, and there’s not been another mainline entry for years. Sega seems to be re-releasing many of its classics from that era, as the Sonic Origins collection reveal came on Wednesday.
