House Of Representatives Control Undecided As Republicans Near Majority

U.S. Representative George Santos (R-NY) is expelled from the House of Representatives, in Washington

As of Wednesday morning, the control of the House of Representatives hangs in the balance, with Republicans only two seats away from securing a majority. The Associated Press has refrained from declaring the winners in 12 House races across the nation.

Alaska At-Large District

In Alaska's at-large congressional district, Democratic incumbent Rep. Mary Sattler Peltola is locked in a close contest with Republican entrepreneur Nick Begich. Begich currently maintains a three-point lead with 49.1% of the vote compared to Peltola's 45.8%, with 91% of the votes counted.

Ciscomani leads Engel in Arizona's 6th district by a slim margin.
Alaska's at-large district shows a tight race between Peltola and Begich.
Harder maintains a lead over Lincoln in California's 9th district.

The race in Arizona's 6th Congressional District sees Republican incumbent Rep. Juan Ciscomani holding a slim lead over former Democratic state lawmaker Kirsten Engel. Ciscomani is ahead by two points with 90% of the votes tallied.

9th Congressional District

Democratic incumbent Josh Harder is currently leading Republican challenger Kevin Lincoln by four points in California's 9th Congressional District. Harder's lead stands at over 7,000 votes with 74% of the votes recorded.

13th Congressional District

Republican Rep. John Duarte is ahead of former Democratic State Assembly member Adam Gray in California's 13th Congressional District by a narrow margin of 51% to 49%, with 70% of the votes counted.

21st Congressional District

Incumbent Democratic Rep. John Costa maintains a lead over Republican Michael Maher with 79% of the votes counted. Costa is ahead by just over 5,000 votes.

41st Congressional District

Republican incumbent Rep. Ken Calvert is leading Democratic challenger Will Rollins by 51.3% to 48.7% with over 8,000 votes separating them and 79% of the votes counted.

45th Congressional District

Incumbent Republican Rep. Michelle Steel is ahead of Democratic challenger Derek Tran with 50.4% of the vote and a lead of 2,272 votes, with 87% of the votes counted.

47th Congressional District

Republican Scott Baugh has conceded to Democratic state Sen. Dave Min in California's 47th Congressional District, where Min holds a one-point lead with nearly 86% of the votes counted.

Iowa 1st Congressional District

Republican incumbent Rep. Mariannet Miller-Meeks is narrowly leading challenger Christina Bohannan by 731 votes with 99% of the votes counted.

Maine 2nd Congressional District

Democratic incumbent Jared Golden holds a slim lead over Republican challenger Austin Theriault by 726 votes with 98% of the votes counted, as the state conducts ranked-choice tabulation.

Ohio 9th Congressional District

Democratic incumbent Marcy Kaptur is leading Republican challenger Derek Merrin by less than one point, with just under 1,200 votes separating them and 99% of the votes counted.

Oregon 5th Congressional District

Republican incumbent Rep. Lori Chavez-DeRemer trails Democratic challenger Janelle Bynum by nearly three points, with Bynum holding a lead of over 10,000 votes and 91% of the votes counted.
