It was a sad, sad day when Barneys New York closed its doors on February 22, 2020. The department store chain was founded in 1923 by Barney Pressman and became a go-to destination for swanky shoppers. Even Carrie Bradshaw is a fan. Now Bradshaw and other Barneys New York devotees can celebrate because Hourglass Cosmetics is bringing the retailer back for a pop-up shop.
Timed in conjunction with New York Fashion Week Spring 2025, the beauty brand is honoring the place where it all started to mark its 20th anniversary. Khaite, Marc Jacobs, Thom Browne and Christopher John Rogers are just some of the big name fashion and beauty brands scheduled to make appearances. Former Creative Director of Barneys New York Simon Doonan is the creative director of the pop-up so expect captivating installations that rival some of his epic window displays.
The Hourglass Cosmetics and Barneys New York pop-up runs from September 5 through October 11 at 14 Prince Street in New York City.
