A dark, wet day is to be expected throughout Nottinghamshire, the Met Office has predicted, after thunder hit the county. Relentless heavy rain is predicted to pour - with no end in sight until at least 4pm today (Thursday, October 20).
Possibility of more thunder has also been forecast, with the sunny days a thing of the past as we move deeper into Autumn. Chances of "lingering fog" and "extensive low clouds are to be expected with temperatures set to reach no higher than 15C.
A Met Office weather forecast for today reads: "Cloudy, with outbreaks of rain, heavy and possibly thundery at times, moving northwards across all parts throughout the day. Extensive low cloud and fog lingering on windward coasts and hills. Light winds. Staying mild. Maximum temperature 15C."
