The heatwave in Wales is well under way on Wednesday with parts set to feel temperatures as high as 28°C. Following heavy rain and thunderstorms in some parts of the country on Monday Met Office forecaster and meteorologist Simon Partridge said drier weather will continue into the latter half of the week.
According to the latest Met Office forecast, one part of Wales will reach 28°C with the majority of the country in the mid-to-high 20s. It should feel less humid than previous days. The forecast for Wednesday read: "Any early morning mist quickly clearing leaving the country with plenty of summer sunshine as temperatures rise during the morning. Feeling warm but perhaps a little less humid than recent days."

Warm temperatures and dry skies will continue into the evening with a light breeze and low cloud in some areas. The forecast reads: "Staying dry through the evening with clear skies for most. The odd patch of low cloud developing in prone spots. Another warm night with a gentle easterly breeze."
As Thursday comes warm weather will continue with a chance of showers in the afternoon. For Friday through to Sunday the outlook states: "Mostly settled with prolonged warm sunshine through the rest of this week though maybe the odd shower. Turning more humid with a chance of thunderstorms on Saturday and Sunday."

The entire country woke up to a warm morning with a maximum of 23°C at 10am in Cardigan and a minimum of 18°C in Newton, Powys.
11am
At 11am the Met Office weather map shows highs of 24°C. The hottest areas include Cardigan, Holyhead, and Caernarfon. Temperatures are set to rise further into the afternoon.
12pm
By midday most parts of Wales will feel temperatures in the low to mid-20s. The warmest temperatures are expected in the north and the west of the country while the south is set to be slightly cooler.
1pm
The weather continues to heat up into the afternoon with highs of 25°C. The warmest areas include Caernarfon, Aberystwyth, Cardigan, and Monmouth.
2pm
By 2pm Wales will see highs of 26°C in Monmouth, Caernarfon, and Aberystwyth and lows of 21°C in Swansea.
3pm
Most of Wales will be well into the 20s by 2pm with highs of 27°C and lows of 22°C but temperatures are still yet to peak according to the map.
4pm
By 4pm Monmouth is set to have the highest temperature of 28°C. Cardiff follows closely behind with 27°C. This is when temperatures are predicted to peak with late afternoon and evening gradually getting cooler.
5pm
At 5pm temperatures remain similar just before they begin to gradually decrease. Monmouth and Cardiff remain the hottest parts of the country.
6pm
The map predicts that temperatures will sit in the mid-20s into the evening.
7pm
As late as 7pm parts of Wales are predicted to reach 27°C including Cardiff and Monmouth. Other parts of the country will feel slightly cooler as temperatures drop into the low 20s. Cardigan will feel the coolest at 19°C. However the majority of Wales will remain in the mid-20s.
8pm
By 8pm temperatures continue to gradually cool but the country will still feel mild to warm with lows of 18°C and highs of 26°C.
9pm
At 9pm Cardiff is set to be the warmest part of the country with a high of 25°C. Parts of west Wales will feel the coolest with lows of 16°C.
10pm
Temperatures will still be warm for 10pm with the map predicting around most parts of Wales to feel around 20°C. It shows lows of 14°C and highs of 23°C.
