After a stormy and unsettled beginning to October, the North East is set for a pair of cool, dry and crisp days to start the week, according to the Met Office.
Last week saw weather warnings and heavy rain - but there's no chance of that on Monday or Tuesday according to the forecasters. Instead, the calm, dry weather we've seen this weekend at events from Newcastle United 's thrashing of Brentford to the Houghton Feast is set to continue.
However, Monday morning will feel brisker than we've become used to this summer - with a single-figure temperature of 8 degrees to start the day. UV and pollution levels will be low.
A Met Office spokesperson said: "A mostly dry and breezy day with sunny spells. Perhaps an isolated shower over western hills, mainly in the morning. Cooler than Sunday. Maximum temperature 13 °C."
And for the rest of the week, there is a similar outlook. The Met Office added: "Staying mostly dry Tuesday with sunny spells. Light winds. Breezy with rain spreading southeastwards on Wednesday. Mostly cloudy Thursday with outbreaks of rain at times. Some chilly starts."
