North East residents will wake to a fresh bedding of snow on Saturday, as the thick grey skies overhead grace Newcastle with frosty downpours in the early hours.
Night owls and early birds may catch the falling flakes set to come between 3am and 5am, but many will rise a little later to be greeted by a thick white sky and coated ground in a similar colour scheme. Clouds are expected to clear by mid-day though, with sunny intervals playing out until sunset.
The respective temperature is expected to be between 4C and 0C.
