It might have been a grey and miserable start across Greater Manchester this morning (May 4), but conditions will dry up - and brighten up - as the day goes on.
The Met Office reports there might be some 'heavy bursts' of rain at first, accompanied by 'fairly extensive low cloud.' But it's set to become 'much brighter' with sunny spells and a northwesterly breeze heading into the afternoon. Today's maximum temperature will hit 15C.
As the evening rolls around, winds will 'fall light,' leaving a dry night with clear spells and 'variable amounts of cloud.' It will turn rather chilly in sheltered rural areas, with a minimum temperature of 4C overnight.
Thursday, meanwhile, is forecast to be a much more settled day, at a slightly warmer 17C. There will be cloud and sunny intervals throughout the day, which will remain dry. But the rain will return on Friday afternoon.
