Liverpool will be battered by torrential rain today as the fallout of Hurricane Ian hits the UK.
The Met Office warned the affects of Hurricane Ian on Florida's southwest coast will be felt in the UK on Friday as an "area of low pressure" sweeps across the country. The worst weather conditions will be felt in northern Scotland, but Liverpool will also see heavy downpours throughout the day.
The forecast for the north west said: "A bright but chilly start for many, with some mist and fog patches. Quickly turning cloudy, wet and windy from the northwest as rain sweeps across the whole region by lunchtime.

"A wet afternoon but rain clearing by the evening. Maximum temperature 15 °C. Staying blustery overnight.
"Plenty of clear spells through the start of the night but scattered showers moving in through the early hours of Saturday. Minimum temperature 7 °C."
