Celtic's win over Motherwell wasn't enough to precent a raft of Hotline calls looking to pick fault with the champions. One caller believes it's time for their manager to jump ship and there was also criticism aimed at Hearts for a 4-0 defeat to Rangers.
Neil Renton, Edinburgh, said: "If I was Ange Postecoglou and I was offered the Wolves job, I’d take it in a heartbeat. He’s got nothing else to prove in Scotland and he’s never going to make Celtic a European force to be reckoned with. It’s time for a new challenge."
Jim Mackenzie, East Kilbride, said: "Now the Celtic fans are saying Josip Juranovic is not good enough for their team and an accident waiting to happen. Is this the same Juranovic that they were claiming was worth £20million plus and was a better player than James Tavernier? You've just gotta laugh at how fickle they are."
Kenny Wilson, Moffat, said: "Another average performance from Celtic in making hard work of what should have been a routine victory over Motherwell. Celtic will certainly have to up their game for the Champions League game against RB Leipzig or it will be another bad night in Europe."
Edward Fraser, said: "Rangers have been criticising the deal done by the SFA for Sky to broadcast Scottish football for the next few years as they feel they didn't offer out the contract to any other bidders. Have Rangers actually found any proof that there's a better deal to be had or are they just blowing out smoke to cover up for their price fixing shirt scandal."
Gerry Milligan, Erskine, emailed: " Hearts have a more than decent squad but Robbie Neilson is too lightweight a manager to get the best out of those players. Rangers were still delicate going into this game and Neilson failed to come up with a positive gameplan to exploit this."
George Fairgrieve , emailed: "The Castles Commission are set to revoke Hearts 'Fortress Tynecastle' status and rename it 'Wendy House Tynecastle' following another example of a 'Rocking Tynecastle' not winning a game. It’s the team that has to be “Rocking” as stadiums don’t win games."
Bud Hay, Dumfries , emailed: " Hotline caller George Wilson said that Motherwell would have managed at least a draw against us but he can dream on. Only Celtic can lose title so dream on George, there will be no more slip-ups."
Craig Gordon, Ayr, said: "How hilarious to read Hotline dreamer George Wilson getting embarrassingly overexcited after a win for Rangers against Hearts. You would think he would learn to keep quiet after his boasting about how they were going to win the league last season and dominate from now on. After being trounced 4-0 by the champions, how’s that domination going George?"
John Scott, Grassmoor, said: "While following Hibs, I witnessed a period in Scottish football when Rangers and Celtic had home gates under 20,000. Along came David Holmes, David Murray and Fergus McCann and lifted both clubs off their knees. They invested tens of millions on rebuilding their respective stadiums and filling their squads with quality international players. As each new stand went up they were filled with excited Rangers and Celtic fans. Tens of thousands of them. Fans that hadn't been near either team bar cup finals and European tie."
Ian Renton, Johnstone , said: "There is only one way to stop cheating in football. When a player deliberately brings down an opponent who is through on goal, a penalty should be awarded no matter where the foul occurs and introduce a sin-bin for the culprit."
Jim McClean, Rothesay, said: "With one Premiership win and one draw, I've got to admit Kilmarnock are only a mediocre Championship team and it says it all when a defender is our top scorer. Derek McInnes has signed a long contract so he'd be better getting his boots looked out as well."
And finally Alan Lough, Dunbar, said: "The days are gone when Manchester United had the bragging rights over the blue half of the city and there are zero signs whatsoever of that changing any time soon."
