A hotel manager who raped and sexually assaulted four women has been jailed for ten years, as police appeal for other victims to come forward.
Ahmed Fahmy, 46, used his work position and access to the rooms to prey on female guests as he worked in London hotels.
Scotland Yard said Fahmy entered guest rooms without permission and made sexual advances towards women. In January last year, one woman staying at the Anchor Hotel on Golders Green’s West Heath Drive woke up to find Fahmy at the end of her bed licking her feet.
Later the same night, Fahmy lured a second woman into his own room when she had lost her access key, and then raped her. Detectives then linked him to two other sexual assaults where he had touched women’s feet, at an east London hotel and a residential home in Wembley.
At Harrow crown court on Wednesday, Fahmy, of West Heath Drive, was jailed for ten years with an extra three years on licence after release. He is banned from working in the hospitality industry in the future, and has also been placed on the sex offenders’ register.
The Met Police has now issued an appeal for other possible victims to come forward, saying Fahmy had worked at hotels across London and his offending spanned 2008 to 2024.
“Fahmy used manipulation to abuse his position as a hotel worker and get close to his victims. He demonstrated a clear pattern of offending and abuse”, said Detective Constable James Gomm.
“We believe there may be other victims and I would encourage anyone affected to get in contact with us – you will be listened to and receive specialist support and guidance, not only from the police but independent charities and services."
Fahmy was convicted by a jury of rape and three counts of sexual assault after a two-week trial.
He came to attention after the two attacks in January 2024, from two friends in a group who were staying at the Golders Green hotel.
One lost her room key and paid Fahmy £80 for another room, but then woke up to find him licking her feet.
The other victim also lost her room key and was “coerced” by Fahmy to stay in his room where the attack happened.
Detectives are looking to speak to anyone who met Fahmy when he worked at hotels across London, saying his “modus operandi is…. to manipulate and gain access to the guest rooms where women were staying, even encouraging some to stay in his room”.
Fahmy is known to have worked at hotels in Royal Victoria Dock, Alliance Close in Wembley, South Way in Wembley, and Bridge in Marlow. Detectives also suspect he may have held other posts they are unaware of.
