Melbourne have dropped Adam Tomlinson as the Demons prepare to face the defender's former team, GWS at the MCG.

Tomlinson makes way for returning premiership backman Harrison Petty for his first game of the season in Saturday's night's round-five clash.

GWS will be boosted by the return of star defender Nick Haynes and have also opted to debut last year's No.3 draft pick Finn Callaghan.

Giants ruckman Matt Flynn has been recalled for the suspended Braydon Preuss.

In good news for winless Port Adelaide, All-Australian defender Aliir Aliir is back sooner than expected and will play in the Power's match against Carlton on Sunday.

Aliir will be rejoined in the team by former GWS forward Jeremy Finlayson and star veteran Robbie Gray, with Brownlow medallist Ollie Wines already ruled out because of a heart scare.

Forgotten Blues midfielders Paddy Dow and Jack Newnes are back with Lachie Plowman (omitted) joining injured captain Patrick Cripps on the outer.

There are some big inclusions for the traditional Easter Monday game between Geelong and Hawthorn at the MCG.

Chad Wingard, Luke Shiels and Tom Phillips will take on the Cats in a boost for the Hawks, who are coming off two-straight defeats.

But Geelong's inclusions are even more impressive, with captain Joel Selwood refreshed after being rested for last week's win against Brisbane.

Star defender Tom Stewart had to pull out of the contest against the Lions with illness but the 10 days in between games has worked in his favour.

Veteran Shaun Higgins and tall forward Esava Ratugolea have also made their way back into Chris Scott's best team.

Sydney have brought back young forward Logan McDonald to replace injured superstar Lance Franklin for the Swans' Good Friday clash with West Coast.

The Swans have also rested veteran midfielder Josh Kennedy, with Ben Ronke into the best-22 after being named a number of times as the medical sub.

The changes continue at the Eagles, with ace defender Jeremy McGovern forced into the AFL's coronavirus protocols.

Nic Naitanui (knee) and Luke Edwards (groin) are also out, but Adam Simpson is able to call up guns Tim Kelly, Jamie Cripps, Elliot Yeo and Luke Shuey.

Jack Higgins is straight back in from concussion protocols for St Kilda's game against Gold Coast as star veteran Paddy Ryder misses through suspension.
