Easter sees shelves stocked to the brim with chocolates and treats – and it wouldn't be the same without the humble hot cross bun which graces shelves every year. Whether you live for the giant chocolate eggs or lean in to the religious side of the holiday, hot cross buns are a regular on tables at Easter.
The hot cross bun has moved beyond its traditional sultana filled dough to include weird and wonderful flavours like cheese and tomato or a banoffee- inspired roll.
For lovers of the snack, this variety is a dream come true but one jewellery company has taken this British classic and immortalised it in a diamond ring that you can get your hands on for a whopping £3,990.

Wedding and engagement ring specialists at Jessica Flinn have created the so-called First Ever Hot Cross Bun Ring, which is designed to look like a traditional hot cross bun and even includes diamond raisins.
The ring comes in at a whopping £3,990, or £4,025 if you opt for an engraving – a fair bit more than your standard box of hot cross buns in the supermarket.
Jessica Flinn's website calls the ring "rich in colour and flavour" saying the "Hot Cross Bun ring is something special".
There's no denying it looks like a hot cross bun though, with a square bun-like shape made from 20 round brilliant-cut cognac diamonds as well as marquise-cut cognac diamonds providing a shiny base for the inedible bun.
This is topped off with clear baguette-cut white diamonds laid across the middle to look like the iconic cross, meeting at the centre where a round 3mm salt and pepper diamond sits.
And let's not forget the traditional raisins. The designers added two black diamonds cut in the rounded elliptical style of a marquise-cut to replicate the dried fruit – although if you prefer your hot cross bun raisin free that's sadly not an option.
Jessica Flinn's ring comes with an 18ct gold band, or rose gold if you prefer a pink hot cross bun, and customers can add in an engraving for an extra £35, bringing the ring up to above the £4k mark.
Customers struggling to write their own inscription to fill the inside of the ring for a special festive proposal can use the pre-written engagement engraving which reads: "Cross my heart and hope to tie".
Even before your loved one lays eyes on the ring, the box itself hints at a quirky choice as it is made to look like a supermarket carton of eggs – to top it off the box is said to even smell like freshly baked hot cross buns.
While it may be a little out there for most people, any hot cross bun obsessed fiancé-to-be is likely to be thrilled with their unique engagement ring.
