Hostages In Gaza Expected To Be Released Soon

The White House has announced that a group of hostages held in Gaza is expected to be released in the coming hours, possibly even minutes, following a ceasefire and hostages deal between Israel and Hamas. Deputy national security adviser Jon Finer revealed to ABC News that the first three hostages are anticipated to be released soon under the terms of the agreement.

Finer expressed relief that the fighting in Gaza has ceased, providing a much-needed respite to the residents who have endured challenging conditions for over a year. He highlighted the dire circumstances faced by the hostages and emphasized the importance of their imminent release.

While acknowledging a lack of detailed information about the hostages' current condition, Finer assured that efforts are underway to secure their safe return. The Biden administration has been leading the negotiations, with support from President-elect Donald Trump's transition team, who have been kept informed throughout the process.

Finer noted that members of the incoming administration have been actively involved in the discussions, demonstrating a collaborative approach to resolving the hostage situation. The joint efforts aim to ensure the swift and successful release of the hostages as part of the ceasefire agreement.
