Horse racing tips and best bets for Newcastle, Sandown and Wolverhampton

The countdown to the Cheltenham Festival is well and truly on but there is plenty happening before then.

And our man Garry Owen picks out his best bets and selections every day right here.

GREATEST STAR (3.50) can sparkle for Dan Skelton in the Vickers.Bet Handicap Hurdle at Newcastle.

Impressive at Southwell, the six-year-old improved again when third to Punctuation at Wetherby.

That race is working out extremely well so this unexposed grey can triumph for his thriving yard.

The Vickers.Bet Handicap Chase is trappy but I’m on Paul Robson’s JUST DON'T KNOW ( 1.30).

The nine-year-old relished tackling three miles when comfortably defeating Shaka The King at Ayr.

The gelding scored with plenty in hand that day so he can shrug off a well-deserved 5lb penalty.

BARRAKHOV (2.05) can extend Fergal O’Brien’s excellent run in the novices’ handicap hurdle.

The gelding recorded a clear personal best when chinning the in-form Kazontherazz at Southwell.

The gelding was value for more than the neck verdict so he can make light of a reasonable 4lb hike.

ANOTHER THEATRE (4.20) can top the bill for shrewd Phillip Kirby in the mares’ handicap chase.

The nine-year-old can score with a repeat of her fine second to the useful Maid O'Malley at Carlisle.

ROSE OF SIENA (4:50) can maintain Nicky Richards’ winning streak in the closing mares’ bumper.

DOUGLAS TALKING (2.55) can take the Wolsey Handicap Chase at Sandown for Lucinda Russell.

The gelding looked very smart when absolutely bolting up from Torpillo over course and distance

The six-year-old is open to plenty of progress so he can defy a 7lb hike in another strong contest.

ROLLING DYLAN (3.30) can take command for Phillip Hobbs in the Grand Military Gold Cup.

The consistent chaser remains fairly-treated after slamming Hogan's Height over track and trip.

Jamie Snowdon’s GIT MAKER (4.05) can bag a treble in the Team Forces Handicap Hurdle.

The six-year-old ran another stormer when hacking up from Masked Crusader at Carlisle.

The gelding was staying-on strongly so he can take full advantage of a nice mark over 2m 4f.

HAS TROKE (4.40) can shade a competitive novices’ handicap hurdle for Alex Hales.

The gelding built on some fair efforts when routing the promising Barony Legends at Fontwell.

The five-year-old is open to plenty of progress so he can strike again for his skilled connections.
