Horse racing tips and best bets for Exeter, Leicester, Newcastle and Wolverhampton

The countdown to the Cheltenham Festival is well and truly on but there is plenty happening before then.

And our man Garry Owen picks out his best bets and selections every day right here.

Don't forget to keep up to date with all the latest horse racing news in our daily live blog as we build up to the Greatest show on Turf and the Grand National.

OPERATION MANNA (2.20) looks very tasty for Tom Lacey in the Virgin Bet Maiden Hurdle at Exeter.

The gelding built on his good bumper form when second to Monviel on his timber bow at Sandown.

That race is working out extremely well so this exciting type can go one better for his thriving yard.

Emma Lavelle’s MY SILVER LINING (2.55) has a serious chance in the Virgin Bet Handicap Hurdle.

The mare left some tepid efforts behind when hacking up from the talented Teddy Blue at Lingfield.

The six-year-old clearly has a bright future so she can take full advantage of a fair opening mark.

IMPERIAL JOE (3.30) can dominate a competitive novices’ handicap hurdle for Tim Dennis.

The gelding looked better than ever when giving the improving Iberio most resistance at Taunton.

The six-year-old still lurks on an attractive mark so he can gain compensation back over two miles.

Phillip Hobbs remains in terrific form so I’m on LONGSHANKS (4.05) in the handicap chase.

The eight-year-old recorded a career best when second to the useful Soldier Of Destiny at Ffos Las.

The gelding remains open to plenty of progress over fences so he can shrug off a welter-burden.

Sean Curran has also hit top gear so I’m siding with GIVE US A SWIG (4.40) in the three-miler.

The chaser was very unlucky to encounter the upwardly mobile Powerful Position at Ffos Las.

That was a cracking effort so this unexposed seven-year-old can land a slightly weaker contest.

DR OAKLEY (1.00) looks deadly for Henry Oliver in the Royal Lancers Chase at Leicester.

The gelding shaped like his turn was near when second to Dawn Raider over slightly further here.

CUT THE MUSTARD (2.40) can extend Paul Nicholls’ winning run in the Lees Handicap Chase.

The 10-year-old remains well-treated after bolting up from Reine Fee over course and distance.

ANGE ENDORMI (1.55) can soar for Ben Pauling in the Cazoo Handicap Hurdle at Newcastle.

The gelding ran a blinder when second to Highstakesplayer on his return over 2m 4f at Lingfield.

The six-year-old was staying-on strongly late so he can open his timber account over three miles.
