It was a fantastic night of racing for one lucky punter whose €1.14 each-way Lucky 31 won them over €63,000 on races on the All-Weather at Chelmsford.
The eagle-eyed punter took a chance on a Lucky 31 which incorporated five races from the Essex track on Thursday evening last.
Incredibly, the each way bet paid off in almost the most lucrative way imaginable as four out of the five selections went on to claim race wins.
El Hombre went into the bet at 17/2 and could only manage fourth place for the lucky customer.
However, all of the other four selections came up trumps - including Street Parade at 25/1 and Eltham Palace at 18/1 - to ensure a whopping windfall was on its way.
The €71.25 stake yielded a return of €52,338 initially, but thanks to William Hill's Best Odds Guaranteed the return was boosted by a further €11,757 to leave the punter with a gigantic €64,095 win.
William Hill spokesperson Lee Phelps was elated for the lucky winner.
He said: “Chelmsford on a Thursday evening isn’t the place you might expect fireworks to occur but that was certainly the case for one of our customers!
“Their incredible £1 [€1.14] each-way Lucky 31 on five horses at the Essex track won them a whopping £55,769.68 [€64,095] and I’m sure there were a few celebrations yesterday evening after 18/1 shot Eltham Palace held on to win by a length.”
