Darkened Rooms is known for screening films in unusual locations across Cardiff, with a number of screenings of classic films having taken place at the Grade II listed Victorian mansion, Insole Court, over the summer period. Last year, in the run-up to Halloween, screenings of a range of different horror films were shown at Cardiff Castle's underground cinema.
The screening of The Shining, set at the remote Overlook Hotel, will aptly take place at one of Cardiff's oldest hotels, The Angel Hotel on Westgate Street. It is claimed that the iconic hotel has existed since 1666, but it has certainly existed from the 18th century, being run by John Bradley in 1782. You can buy tickets to the screening here.
