A British tourist from the North West who was killed by a lightning strike in Greece has been named. Tributes have now been paid to 26-year-old Scott Seddon who died after reportedly being struck on the island of Rhodes.
Mr Seddon, said to be from Liverpool, was on a paddleboard in the sea with his girlfriend filming him at the time of the incident, according to local media.
Greek media outlet Rodiaki said the tragedy happened shortly before 1.30pm local time on Monday when a bolt of lightning struck a short distance from where he was.

Emergency services rushed to the scene and with the help of a 47-year-old local resident, Mr Seddon was taken to land where rescuers fought to try and keep him alive, the Liverpool Echo reports.
"I was worried that the same thing would happen to me as it was still raining but I didn't stop," the resident told Rodiaki.
"The rescuers arrived shortly afterwards and performed all the resuscitation procedures to keep him alive. Unfortunately, I found out a little later that he didn't make it."
It is understood Mr Seddon was taken to the Archangelos Health Centre, where medics desperately tried to resuscitate him but he sadly died. It has been widely reported today that Mr Seddon was from Liverpool. He has been described as a 'lovely guy' in those same reports.
According to the Echo, Mr Seddon was a student at King David High School in Childwall for a period of time. His social media page suggests he also attended St Francis Xavier's College in Woolton.
On an image posted on Mr Seddon's Instagram page, one commenter said: "RIP my brother." Another social media tribute shared a picture of Mr Seddon with the caption: "Always kind, always generous, always fearless. RIP Scott."
An investigation by the Central Port Authority of Rhodes has been launched. An FCDO spokesperson said: “We are supporting the family of a British man who has died in Rhodes and are in contact with the local authorities.”
