A hospital doctor's car was vandalised with vile slogans and images while he was stuck at home with covid.
Connor Togulu returned to his motor to find a penis painted onto his windscreen and the word c*** scrawled on the side in yellow paint.
The Glasgow Royal Infirmary medic was horrified to find the crude messages as he prepared for a weekend of nightshifts after fighting the virus at home in Partick, reports Glasgow Live.
Connor said : "I really love the area, but the parking on the street can be very busy. I came back home from a late shift and parked by the corner – it was the only space available and there’s pretty much always a car there.
"Unfortunately I caught covid and wasn’t too well for a week so I didn’t move my car over that period. I’m guessing that someone over that week got more annoyed as the bit of the road is pretty tight if there’s a car also parked across the way, a little bit further down.
"So I come out of my flat opposite on Thursday and find my car covered in spray paint on all four sides. I felt pretty devastated, I’ve been unwell and I was just about to start working nights this weekend when I saw my car, which I’ve had for eight years now, completely vandalised.
"My flatmates were so supportive and that night they helped me clean off the majority of the swear words and the penis on the front and then had to spend three hours the next day, trying to get rid of as much of the paint as I could."
Connor now has to shell out some cash to replace a few items on his beloved vehicle which has been damaged by the vandal.
The doctor said: "I’ll have to replace the windscreen wipers due to damage. What was lovely was the community support while I was cleaning the car.
"Lots of neighbours, who I might never have met, stopped to pass on their well-wishes and to express their disgust at what happened.
"From the information that everyone gave we've managed to narrow the time frame down. It would’ve happened sometime between 8pm Wednesday evening and 2am the following morning. I haven’t been able to completely deal with the situation with working nights this weekend. "
The incident left the Englishman questioning why he had decided to move north for his job, however, the outpouring of kindness from Glaswegians has made him more optimistic about his future in Scotland.
He said: "Being so exhausted and seeing my car like that really made me regret moving to Glasgow. I moved to work in the hospital to try and help the community but to do so I had to move away from my family, my friends, and my partner.
"I’ve loved my time in Glasgow so far and the community support has really proved why it is such a great city.
"This was one person's stupid actions that I think most people would agree were totally out of order."
