'Horrible' Prince Andrew slammed by former royal officer who says he has 'questions to answer'

The disgraced Duke of York, Prince Andrew has been slammed by a former Royal Protection Officer who worked with the family for six years. Paul Page referred the Prince as a, "horrible little man" who has "questions to answer" about his friendship Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell.

Page worked at Buckingham Palace and has criticised the Duke for not co-operating with US authorities when asked about his links to the convicted sex offenders. As The Mirror reports, Page's comments come very shortly after Ghislaine Maxwell was jailed for 20 years for her sick role in procuring and abusing girls alongside convicted paedophile Epstein.

Page told the Sun Online : "Andrew....has questions to answer - but I don't think he will ever be in a position where he will have to answer them because of who he is. He's got the 'HRH' title in front of his name, Ghislaine hasn't - where is she? Jail. Where is he? At home. Simple as that."

He continued: "He's a self absorbed, obnoxious, horrible little man who is disrespectful to those below him." Prince Andrew famaously did address his connections to Maxwell and Epstein in his BBC Newsnight interview in 2019.

He revealed to Emily Matlis that he had known Maxwell since she attended Oxford University but he denied ever having a close friendship, despite their having been many sightings of the two together at social events. This week, Maxwell was sentenced to 20 years in prison for her role in the sickening sexual assaults of young girls.

And Prince Andrew recently settled a civil case filed against him by one of Epstein’s victims, Virginia Giuffre. Andrew denies the allegations against him and the out-of-court settlement was not an admission of guilt though he has stepped down from his royal duties been stripped him of his military titles and patronages by the Queen.

Ahead of the Queen's Platinum Jubilee celebrations this month, it was announced Prince Andrew had tested positive for Covid. And at the Garter Day procession a "family decision" was taken to limit his appearance to a behind-the-scenes lunch and investiture ceremony.
