Hope Street BBC: Meet the cast of police drama series filmed in Northern Ireland

The cast of the BBC's latest police drama series has been revealed.

Hope Street, which was filmed in Donaghadee, Co Down, is a series set in the fictional town of Port Devine on the Northern Ireland coast.

The show focuses on Port Devine's police department and the mysterious arrival of English Detective Constable Alimah Kahn, the first Muslim police officer in the town’s history.

The character-led series combines a long-running serial narrative with self-contained crime stories in each episode.

The first episode of the 10-part series will be broadcast on BBC One Northern Ireland at 7pm on Wednesday, November 24.

Hope Street's ensemble cast features a range of actors from across the UK, with many of them being from Northern Ireland - here are the famous faces you can expect to see in the upcoming series.

Brid Brennan

Brid Brennan will take on the role of Concepta O'Hare in the upcoming BBC series.

The Belfast-born actress is well known for her extensive theatre work, and originated the role of Agnes in the Brian Friel play Dancing at Lughnasa, winning the 1992 Tony Award for Best Featured Actress in a Play.

Amara Karan

Taking on the role of English Detective Constable Leila Hussain in Hope Street is Amara Karan.

The London native is known for her role in film St Trinian's and for co-starring in HBO's 2016 crime series The Night Of.

Des McAleer

Playing the role of former RUC officer and current taxi man, Barry Pettigrew, is Des McAleer.

The Belfast born actor had recurring roles in Silent Witness from 2004 to 2019, and in 2017 featured in The Crown.

Ciaran McMenamin

In Hope Street, Ciaran McMenamin will play the role of Duty Inspector Finn O’Hare.

The Enniskillen man is well-known for playing Matt Anderson in sci-fi drama Primeval. As well as this, he has featured in episodes of Silent Witness and Midsomar Murders.

Rachel Tucker

West End and Broadway star Rachel Tucker will play Siobhan O'Hare.

The Belfast-born actress is best known for playing Elphaba in the hit musical Wicked, and has stared in multiple other shows, including one with Sting (The Last Ship).

Niall Wright

Belfast born actor Niall Wright takes on the role of PC Callum McCarthy in Hope Street.

The 30-year-old actor is best known for his role as Jonjo in Mickybo & Me, Mickey Bradley in Good Vibrations, and Danny Burns in TV series Six Degrees.

Kerri Quinn

North Belfast actress Kerri Quinn takes on the role of Sergeant Marlene Pettigrew in Hope Street.

Best known for playing Vicky Jefferies in Coronation Street, she's also featured in Derry Girls, and a variety of theatre roles.

Niamh McGrady

From Castlewellan, Co Down, Niamh McGrady is best known for her roles as Mary-Claire Carter in Holby City and PC Dannielle Ferrington in The Fall.

In Hope Street, she takes on the role of bubbly pub landlady, Nicole Devine.

Aaron McCusker

Portadown actor Aaron McCusker plays the part of Clint Dunwoody in Hope Street.

He recently played the role of Finn Maguire in Marcella, but is best known for his part as Jamie Maguire in Shameless.
