Hop on the Easter Egg trail in East Kilbride this spring

There are plenty of egg-cellent activities on offer in East Kilbride to keep the little ones entertained this Easter.

If you're on the hunt for Easter events, put your sleuthing skills to the test and join the Eggspress trail in search of chocolate eggs at East Kilbride Arts Centre.

Easter Sunday's Easter Egg Trail is the perfect Easter activity for kids and sweet-toothed adults alike.

Decorate your very own Easter egg and then join in ‘The Great Egg Roll’ down the banks of the Arts Centre’s amphitheatre. And get your face painted while you're there.

This event is free to attend on Sunday, April 17 from 10am till 3pm.

There will be a number of Easter day outs to enjoy over the holidays (Daily Record)

Meanwhile Calderglen Zoo's popular Easter holiday sessions are back.

The sessions will be activity-packed and include zoo-based fun as well as outdoor games with good and bad weather options to keep children interested and active.

Sessions run from 10am till 3pm which includes a supervised lunch hour (packed lunches must be supplied by parents/guardians) and are suitable for primary-age children.

They run from Monday, April 4 till Wednesday, April 6 then again on Monday, April 11 till Wednesday, April 13. Entry costs £20 per child with a maximum number of 15 children per day.

Join storyteller Allison Galbraith for a tale about some farm animals who go on a great adventure at the National Museum of Rural Life (National Museum of Rural Life)

And over at the National Museum of Rural Life kids can become a spring explorer this Easter holiday with family storytelling and lots of sustainable crafts.

Hear a story about farm animals and make a bird feeder, paper pot for planting or a beautiful egg box flower to take home.

Join storyteller Allison Galbraith for a tale about some farm animals who go on a great adventure and foil some bank robbers along the way.

This hilarious story is the Scottish version of the well-known children’s tale, Town Musicians of Bremen . This join-in singing and laughing storytelling show is suitable for children aged two and over. Book your family’s place in the orientation area on arrival.

The 30 minute storytelling sessions run on Monday, April 11 till Wednesday, April 13 at 10.30, 12pm, 1.30pm and 3pm.

The sustainable craft sessions run on Monday, April 11 till Thursday, April 14 at 10.30am, 12.30pm, 1.30pm and 3.30pm.
