Hooters waitress shares clever jokes she pulls on customers to increase tips

A Hooters server has revealed the clever jokes she pulls on customers to bag more tips.

Charity Harris, who goes by the TikTok username @charityy_harris, went viral on the platform for sharing the comedic stunts she plays on her tables during her shift - with other Hooters staff agreeing that 'light bullying' works every time.

In the video, which now has more than two million views, Charity, sporting her uniform, talks viewers through a list she had written out on the Notes app in her iPhone.

"My bits as a server but Hooters edition," she begins.

First, she explained that her go-to move is to jokingly inform customers that the restaurant is out of water.

"I always tell people we're out of water every time they order water. I'll hit them with a, 'Oh my god, no one told you? We just ran out of water,'" she continued.

Other jokes include addressing male customers as 'princess' and telling them they can't leave when they request the bill.

"When people ask for the tab, I always look at them and be like, 'Oh my god, I didn’t tell you. I actually kind of like you guys and I came to the conclusion you can't leave. I'm sorry," Charity joked.

"Of course, a majority of dudes come in. I hit them with the 'princess - here you go, princess. Here's your drink for you, princess.'"

And when checking up on customers, she asks if they have missed her.

"If it's a big group of people and one of the dudes says something sassy, I'll hit him with the: 'We’re fighting now. I'm not talking to you for the next two minutes,'" she added.

The witty waitress also said that she suggests her customers should make bird noises to get her attention, saying: "Whenever I put in peoples' food I'll be like, 'If you need anything just cacaw.

"And I've actually had people cacaw and it brings so much light to my life."

Other Hooters staff agreed these were surefire ways of bringing in bigger tips.

One shared: "When my best friend and I worked at hooters we would play dish rack races with eachother and make our customers bet on buying drinks to up our tabs."

Another revealed: "Nah because light bullying with princess on the end gets em everytimeeeee."

A third commented: "i worked at hooters and twin peaks and these are my exact bits".

Other TikTok users shared encouragement for the 'bits' with one replying: "if my server did this at literally any restaurant, i'm falling in love and they're my new favorite".
